Centennial High School students recently took a trip to Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) to learn more about what the school has to offer.
Two staff members from the MSU counseling office accompanied the students on the visit. Once there, students sat in on a 15-minute presentation with an advisor, who gave a detailed overview of student life, Greek life, and various academic programs at the university.
The advisor shared that MSU Denver offers over 200 academic programs, including 52 majors and 28 minors. She also mentioned that while Greek life is active on campus, with 8 fraternities and 5 sororities, students can have a great college experience without participating in it.
MSU Denver is known for its diverse student body and has strong graduation rates, with a 51% six-year graduation rate. The acceptance rate is about 73%, making it an accessible option for many students.
A key piece of information she shared was about housing. The campus does not currently have dorms, but the university plans to build them by 2027. In the meantime, MSU Denver has partnerships with nearby apartment complexes for student housing.
After the presentation, students were guided around the campus by two tour guides, Ryan and Catherine.
Catherine led the tour, showing students around the various buildings and explaining the different facilities and amenities available to students. She pointed out that MSU Denver shares its campus with two other colleges: the University of Colorado Denver and the Community College of Denver, which creates a unique and diverse campus environment.
Catherine also highlighted some of the great spots around the school, such as the nearby Denver Art Museum and other attractions that are just a short walk away.
For those interested in applying to MSU Denver, the application process is simple. The school offers both undergraduate and graduate programs, and students can apply directly through their website. They also offer various financial aid options to help make college more affordable.
Overall, the visit to MSU Denver was a great experience. It gave students a better understanding of what the school has to offer and provided useful information for anyone considering it as a future option. For more details about the application process and programs, visit MSU Denver’s website.
