Centennial girls basketball vs Central

On February 4, 2026 Centennial’s Girls Basketball team played rival Pueblo Central in a home game where they won 47-20.
In the first quarter of the game Centennial showed great initiative as they scored 12 points, and Central only 5. Centennial kept the lead as they averaged 11 points each quarter, but Central stayed steady with an average of 5 points.
For the Central Wildcats, sophomore Norah Montes scored the most throughout the game with a total of 9, and behind her was senior Violet Obley who had a total of 5 points. Beside those two Central players, they only had 4 players who scored, each with 2 points.
The main difference between the two teams was that Central was mainly relying on Obley and Montes, whereas Centennial had 4 main players who could be depended on to keep the score up.
Bulldog senior Ella Greenwood took the lead by scoring 17 points in the game. Following her lead was sophomore Jailee Schwab who scored 10 points. Next, was senior Allison Vigil who scored 8, and then lastly freshman Tiahna Chavez who scored 5 points.
Another key factor to the 27 point difference was the Wildcats had 5 players who were unsuccessful to score, however all of Centennial’s starting players scored at least once.
In the end, Centennial fans were happy to watch a great win for the Bulldogs, especially because of the famous rivalry between the two schools.
