The Centennial Bulldogs gathered Thursday morning to commemorate fall athletes in the annual Fall Sports Assembly.
In order to ensure an expansion in attendance, this year’s assembly began after third hour, beginning with cheer and dance teams welcoming students entering the gym. Shortly after, color guard presented the flags.
Cheer and dance then gave a performance, shifting spectators into a more attentive environment.
Coaches then introduced their teams, players and managers beginning with volleyball, coached by Anthony Gonzalez, followed Softball Coach Nick Zinanti, Football Coach Joey Paradiso, Boys Golf Coach Joe Vigil, Boys soccer Coach Jeff Greenwood, Boys Tennis Coach Brad Gerler, and completed with Cross country Coach Ron Garcia.
The assembly concluded with a real-life game of Hungry Hungry Hippos featuring all four grades, followed by the traditional cheer battle for the spirit stick.
In the cheer off, juniors and seniors went toe to toe in the semi -finals, both teams determined to win the intense competition. Juniors walked out victorious.
