Our Centennial boys baseball team has had decent success in the past, but this year they plan to become an even stronger and more competitive team.

The team went 6-17 last season. Most of the losses were close, but all of their wins were won by 10 runs or more.

Those numbers are very exciting, and definitely show promise for this season.

This whole team is talented, gritty, and competitive, but the top three performers last season are now seniors and are expected to lead this team to a successful season.

Seniors Jordan West, Joey Cardinal, and Bryant Armijo Martin led each category for the Bulldogs last season. West and Cardinal led the team in batting average, on base percentage, and hits. All three seniors led the team in runs batted in, slugging percentage, and doubles.

West and Armijo Martin led the team in homeruns, West with 3 and Armijo Martin with 1.

West and Cardinal have already committed to play college at the next level. Surely Armijo Martin is next.

But, the talent does not stop at just that trio; it extends throughout the lineup. Last season, the team as a whole had a .331 combined batting average, surpassing the national average by more than .100.

This season kicks off in March, and it is clear that this season should be filled with success - perhaps even an SCL championship.
