Review: What Lies Below

By Miana Aragon

The Centennialight

A 16-year-old girl returned home from summer camp to learn that her mother has a new fiancé. His charming and clever wisdom seems almost too good to be true.

According to the website, ‘Google Users’, the audience gave the film 57% rotten tomatoes. The comedy/ rom-com movie rated R. It was first released on February 11, 2021

The audience described the movie as confusing, cringe-worthy, bad-acting, boring, creepy, disturbing, illogical, unrealistic, awkward, and corny.

What Lies Below, started off with poor acting, showing excessive facial expressions, poor performance and poor plot. At the end of the movie, one will have more questions than answers.

Branden Duemmler directed and produced the film. Cast members include: Trey Tucker as John Smith, Ema Horvath as Liberty Wells, Mena Suvari as Michelle Wells, Haskiri Velazquez as Miley, and Troy Iwata as Tommy.
